The Big Wheel Evening

The Great Yarmouth Haven Rotary Club were given the opportunity to ride on the Big Wheel at the Pleasure Beach, before it was dismantled and moved to another venue. It has been a memorable attraction for the town throughout the Summer season.

By kind permission of Albert Jones , Owner of The Pleasure Beach, we were able to enjoy a 20 minute ride on the big wheel and view the town and surrounding countryside from a height not normally available, unless in a helicopter flight !

From the photos below , can be seen that it was more spectacular, as the sun was just setting over the Breydon Waters and the sea front illuminations were being turned on.

About 30 members and guests enjoyed the ride , especially our President Robert, who was lucky enough to be allowed to ride in the one of the VIP gondolas !

Following the trip,was a most enjoyable Scampi and Chips supper with wine at Sarah's Cafe, who opened especially for us.... and the service was excellent.

Many thanks to Mike Butcher for arranging this entertaining evening and many members who did not attend , missed a fine treat which may not be experienced again.
