The weather
was fine and the children arrived at 10am to be greeted by Rtn John
Tomalin kitted out in a bright fluorescent jacket and tall red and white
jester’s hat (to aid with identification and to add a bit of jollity to
the day). Woody Bear was spotted as he made his way across the car park
from his woodland home just in time for the opening.
Our
District Governor, Peter Harris, was in attendance to welcome our young
guests and a Rotary tent was erected at the entrance to provide a point
of contact.
Other Clubs
involved included Halesworth, Lowestoft, Lowestoft East Point and King’s
Lynn Trinity, the latter club beating us into 2nd place wth
their total of some 300 children!
The
excitement and smiles on the children’s faces added testimony to the
fact that everyone was enjoying themselves and had a really great day.
The “thank
you” messages from the schools and children have just started to arrive
and these will be collated and circulated shortly.
Rtn. John Tomalin
