               Once again ,Eight members took part in Haven's own annual Club golf tournament today starting at 2.00pm at Caister and Great Yarmouth Golf Club. Those taking part were  Alan Carman, Alan Spinks, John Hovell, Wally Ladmore, John Clarke , Peter Gethin , Tony Wortley and Bill Cooke

               The format was an 18 hole stableford on full handicaps.

               The conditions were slightly cloudy but very little breeze.The course was very dry as very little rain had fallen over the last few months. However a little light rain appeared when we had nearly finished the round.

                After the golf, a special steak in ale pie , followed by Rhubarb and apple crumble meal was enjoyed by all, and the golfers were joined for this by Tony King, Vice President John Burroughs and Junior V.President Robert Lovick. As usual a few bottles of red and white wine were consumed !

Absent friends, namely Geoff Denton and David Bluck were remembered.

                 Because of the very dry fairways , the scores were reasonably low this year.

The winner on 32points and countback was Alan Spinks. John Hovell was second and Bill Cooke 3rd .

Peter Gethin won the longest drive and Alan Carman , nearest pin on the 14th.

Best score on 1st 3 holes...Tony Wortley and best on the last 3 holes...John Clarke.

Wally Ladmore received the best looking trophy for the golfer in need to improve for the next time !

                The putting competition always takes place after the meal, and the idea is NOT to win "the David Bluck Putter ".  Our guests also take part and all showed some degree of skill by not coming last to win the coveted poker ! Wally again was again off form and was presented with the David Bluck Putter by Alan Carman, who was thanked by Alan Spinks for his organisation of the annual event.

                 A great fun day and evening and every member will look forward to the event next year sometime.
