During the period of 5th April to 3rd May 2009, a GSE Team from The Philippines District 3800 were welcomed to East Anglia as part of Rotary's world wide Group Study Exchange Program. Our Haven Club were very pleased to host the team during their last week of their stay. Special thanks must go to President Robert, Leslie Seabert, Charles Lewis, Michael Self, Terry Ashbourne, Robert Lovick, George Ermini, John Burroughs and others who worked hard to organise a varied week of sight seeing and cultural visits and fun evenings. On the last day George Ermini invited the team for a trip on the broads on his luxurious boat. ( see more here ) The Team..... The Club Monday Meeting.... Each member of the team introduced themselves to the Club and spoke of their warm welcome to East Anglia. Rotary banners were exchanged from their respective sponsoring Rotary clubs.
Visit to Time and Tide Museum... Many thanks to Charles Lewis for his inimitable style of presenting the facts about this local museum. Evening Buffet and Slide Show.... Several members joined with the GSE Team at The Furzedown Hotel in the evening of April 27th. Terry Ashbourne presented a well structured slide show of the History of Great Yarmouth and how it had gained its popularity over the centuries. A very nice buffet was enjoyed by all those present.
