Chilworth Manor Walking Weekend May 28th - 31st 2010
Several of the Club Members and guests travelled to Chilworth, near Southampton over the Bank Holiday for the ‘Walking Weekend’. Over many years the club has organised such events giving them the opportunity to discover interesting walking routes and equally good hostelries where one could relax and enjoy good food. However this trip to the County of Hampshire is now well established within Haven’s Social Calendar with a chance to enjoy a leisurely stroll in the country side and to discover many of the interesting attractions in the locality. However this year’s walk did not go without incident when several of the walkers got left behind at the starting point and had to reschedule their plans. On the Saturday evening all the members and their guests enjoyed a wonderful 5 course meal organised by one of the Hotel Directors and Club member Rotarian Peter Bondi. President Mike Erskine thanked Peter for the hospitably shown to them by all the staff and then introduced Rotarian Peter Gethin who entertained the group with some of his magic tricks which certainly kept us on the edge our seats throughout the evening.
