Foundation Committee's Chilli Evening

Over 20 members and friends attended the Chilli evening at the house of Rotarian Jack Thorpe on Friday evening November 19th.

The theme was a chilli evening with the intention of raising some funds for the Foundation Committee.

On arrival we were tempted as usual ,greeted by Peter Howkins with a welcoming drink ( it cost a £1.50 ! ) and engaged in topical conversation while waiting for cook Jean to announce everything was ready.

It was not too long before all were enjoying a very tasty chilli (mild or hot )( or an equally tasty cottage pie as an alternative ). Dessert followed.

A raffle took place and many thanks to those donating the prizes. Over £120 was raised for this.

Finally ,after Jack had thanked everyone for attending and explained the purpose behind the Foundation evening,  President John Burroughs thanked all those for supporting the evening but in particular thanked Jean Thorpe for the preparation of the wonderful food and Jack and his Committee for organising such an enjoyable event.

Jack estimated there will be a nice profit .....a splendid effort !
