The Presentation of the GSE Team from District 9700  May 6th 2008

The Norwich St Edmund Club hosted the newly arrived GSE Team from District 9700 Australia at the Maids Head Hotel, Norwich.

Many Clubs were represented as well as officials from District 1080. After the dinner the 5 team members gave their very interesting presentation of their own families ,work and environment and the District 9700 from which they were representing.

District 9700 is in New South Wales, Australia and is part of Zone 8 in the Administrative Region of South Pacific & Philippines.

It is located in the regional areas of the Riverina, South Western Slopes and Central Western New South Wales. The district runs from the towns of Parkes in the north to Henty in the south( 300 km ) to Oberon in the East and Hay in the west ( 500 km ).

D9700 is approx. 150,000 sq. km., an area nine times larger than D 1080.

There are currently 43 Clubs with 1240 members.

Industries within the district include  Agriculture, Viticulture, Wine making, Gold Mining, Manufacturing, Softwoods Forestry, Textiles, Defence, Transport, Tourism and Retail.
