60's Evening dance  July 17th 2010

The Great Yarmouth Haven Rotary Club Community Service Committee organised another successful event in aid of charity. This year's recipients were the East Anglian Childrens Hospice (EACH) and over £650 was raised from a 60s Night held at Valley Farm, Hopton.

Following last years equally successful Barn Darn, the committee changed the format slightly to have a 1960s music theme and a local group from that era, The Yarebeats provided the music and songs  which so many of the gathering remembered. Indeed they sang and danced to the beat in a manner to indicate that were not so stiff and arthritic as they claim.

The evening started with drinks and music, a terrific BBQ by Pollyannas sated the appetites and then The Yarebeats took over until the close.

A raffle was organised by Bill and Diana Cooke and that contributed £225 to the evening fundraising.

Junior Vice President Bob Price thanked Terry and Jean Hall for their generosity in allowing the function to be held at their home and their hospitality and the Rotarians who helped organise the event.
