Our 25th Anniversary
Dinner
Our
25th Anniversary Dinner to celebrate our Charter inauguration on June 26th
1981, was held at The Burlington Hotel on 23rd June 2006.
All
present members and all past members were invited to this celebration with
guests from the Rotary club of Gorleston and Great Yarmouth and District 1080.
President
Monty Spandler welcomed everyone and introduced the Guest Speaker David
Clayton of BBC Radio Norfolk , Rotarian Brian Baxter Past District Governor
1080, Rotarian Alan Potter President of Gorleston and Rotarian John Newman
President of Great Yarmouth.
Former
members , Richard Cotton, Michael Smith, Owen Church, Herbert Tonkin, Bernard
Tuttle, were warmly welcomed.
After
a sumptuous 4 course meal, President Monty introduced David Clayton, guest
speaker who reminisced about his early days as a disc jockey and his career in
the BBC at Norwich and Radio Norfolk.
Finally
Past President Brian Baxter gave his thoughts on the Haven Rotary Club and its
achievments and fellowship over the last 25 years and proposed a toast to the
continued well being of the Club.
